Frequently asked questions
How do I resize an image without stretching it?
Leave Keep aspect ratio ticked and type just the width or just the height; the other side follows. If you fill in both, the image is fitted inside that box without distortion.
What size should my Instagram, Facebook or LinkedIn image be?
Choose Social and pick the platform. The presets use each network's recommended upload size, for example 1080 × 1350 for an Instagram portrait post and 1280 × 720 for a YouTube thumbnail. Crop to fill trims the edges to fit exactly; Fit, add bars keeps the whole image and adds white bars.
Is it free?
Yes. You can resize 3 images a day for free, with results up to 4 megapixels and no watermark. Pro removes the daily limit, goes up to 16 MP and resizes up to 50 images at once with a zip download.
Are my images uploaded?
No. Resizing happens in your browser on your own device.
Does resizing reduce quality?
Making an image smaller keeps it sharp: the resizer scales down in steps with high-quality smoothing. Making it larger can't add real detail, so enlarged images look softer; for big enlargements use Upscale Image, which uses AI to add detail.
What format is the resized image?
The same as the original: JPG stays JPG, PNG stays PNG (with transparency), WebP stays WebP. HEIC and BMP become JPG, GIF becomes PNG. To change format as well, use the Image Converter.
